Family Dog 1 (for dogs 5 months and older)
Learn the basics (heel, sit, down, stay, come) and how to make training work in real life. Situational training exercises include greeting without jumping, 'don’t run out the door', go to your place and stay, how to handle dogs who steal, calming down in exciting situations. We also help with other problem behaviors.

Families are welcomed; well behaved, responsible children are encouraged to attend.**

Fine tune the skills you learned in Family Dog 1. Major emphasis on the nuts and bolts of training, heel, stay, come, stay back. This class provides an introduction to skills necessary for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test, Therapy Dog training and Rally-O.

Family Dog 1 or other class work is strongly recommended as a pre-requisite.

$15 per class or 10 Classes for $100

Puppy Kindergarten Training (for puppies @ 11 – 18 weeks)
Get your puppy off to the best start possible. We teach age appropriate sit, down, stay & come, walking on a loose leash, how to handle nipping and stealing, appropriate play and proper greetings. Help with housebreaking, chewing and other behavior issues are included in the program.

Family members are encouraged to attend. Please bring your puppy, soft treats, a towel, leash and collar to each session.
Ask about Performance Puppy - for the experienced handler with performance goals.

$20.00 per 90 minute session.

Show Handling
This drop in class prepares handlers and their dogs for the breed ring. We work on stacking, ring patterns, proper presentation to the judge, ring protocol, how to manage your dog in show situations. We welcome questions about accumulating points, classes to enter and other show rules.

Rally–O is the newest AKC competition sport. In this unique sport, handlers guide their dogs through a series of visual and written signs that define an ever changing course. Handlers are encouraged to keep dogs motivated by praise, encouragement, voice and hand signals in this fun and upbeat venue. Rally-O is described as a combination of obedience and agility in a board game format and is fun for both dogs and their handlers!

Dogs and handlers with some class experience are welcomed. Students new to Dog Works, please call.

Agility is a fast moving fun sport for dogs and handlers. Whether you are looking for a confidence building experience for your dog, want to learn more about the sport or plan to compete, this venue is for you! Our beginner level teaches the fundamentals of agility, equipment familiarization and the ins and outs of handling. Advanced & Competition levels develops dog/handler proficiency.

Some obedience class experience is strongly suggested.

Animal Facilitated Therapy Training
Offered on a quarterly basis, this program provides training specifically for dogs and handlers working toward therapy dog certification.
Our program concludes with a certification test conducted by a TDI Evaluator.

Dog Works Alumni $25 discount.

Tracking as a treasure hunt for dogs. . Teach your dog how to follow a scent trail to articles (personal items or "official" tracking items) and be rewarded for telling you "here it is!!". This outdoor sport is a wonderful program for both dog and handler. We teach you the fundamentals of tracking and handling the tracking dog and prepare you for competition tracking if that becomes your goal. Great for dogs and handlers of all ages.

Advanced & Competition Obedience
Our competition classes are offered for dog sport enthusiasts or those who want to sharpen their training skills to performance level. We offer all levels of training, pre-novice, novice, open and utility classes. Take the partnership to a higher level!

Behavior Consultations
We specialize in helping dogs with behavior problems. Our innovative programs are designed to address problems such as biting, aggression to strangers, aggression to other dogs, fear related problems and separation anxiety. We welcome the opportunity to assist you in helping your dog become the best companion possible. Our realistic, up to date programs combine techniques based on sound learning principles, rules of dog behavior, effective and humane dog handling and good management skills.

Behavior programs are scheduled privately and offered on a per session basis:
In home (2 hour sessions)- $125         At Dog Works (2 hour sessions)- $95
